Environmentally friendly, green cars are no longer a thing of the future. With the UK Government set on abolishing new diesel cars and bringing in toll charges for high polluting areas, the push for eco-friendly cars has never been stronger. With that in mind UK Car Finance have put together a list of the very best options:
Tesla Model S
Tesla is known for their electric car manufacturing launching the very first all-electric car back in 2012. The Model S is quite expensive starting at £75,000, a bit pricey for most of us, however with zero emissions it is fantastic as reducing your carbon footprint.
SMART EQ Fortwo
On the opposite side of the environmentally friendly cars coin is the SMART EQ Fortwo. It’s tiny making city drives super easy. Again, with zero emissions you’ll be helping contribute to cleaner cities and starting at around £17,695 it’s much more affordable.
The e-Golf is a little unusual, rather than being built from the ground up its unashamedly based on the ever-popular Petrol & Diesel VW Golf. The electric version retains all of the positives of the Golf but again with zero emissions! Again, absolutely no emissions and you could bag one from £32,190.
If you’re not yet ready to take the jump into full electric cars, then the world’s best-selling hybrid car is a sound choice. With low emissions it’s still a leading force when it comes to eco-friendly cars, but as it uses a hybrid engine you benefit from extended journey times. Starting from just £23,449 it’s very reasonably priced.
Rounding off our list is the Hyundai Ioniq, dubbed one of the safest cars you can buy with a 5 star Euro NCAP safety rating and packed full of safety technology. There are three versions: electric, hybrid petrol/electric motor combo and a plug-in hybrid version giving you plenty of choice. Starting from £21,056 again this car is very affordable.
